Energy Community Elearning has officially launched with its first course: Delivering citizen-led renovation through one-stop shop cooperatives. This detailed, step-by-step guide to establishing or strengthening citizen-led one-stop shops for home renovations draws directly on the experience of the OSR Coop project, an initiative that aims to advancing cooperative one-stop shop building renovation services. The course features insights from three OSR Coop pilot cooperatives working on the ground: Energent in Belgium, EcoVision in Ireland, and Les 7 Vents in France.

Structured into five modules, the course begins by introducing the concept of citizen-led renovation one-stop shops. It highlights the power of the cooperative model to connect local citizens with renovation professionals, financing opportunities, and other key actors involved in the renovation process.
The second module focuses on service design. It explores how to create renovation services that genuinely reflect the needs of local households. From accessibility to effective communication, this module encourages learners to consider what it takes to design meaningful, trustworthy services that people will use.
The third module is dedicated to skills and capacities. It offers insights into the various competencies needed to operate a successful cooperative one-stop shop for renovation. This includes everything from community engagement and project management to technical coordination and administrative follow-up.
The fourth module delves into legal and financial matters. These are often some of the most complex components of starting such an initiative. The course offers grounded, practice-based advice to help learners navigate legal frameworks and financial planning with greater confidence.
The final module focuses on ICT tools. Learners are introduced to the digital systems and software that help manage renovation projects efficiently. The module shows how technology can streamline operations and foster trust when thoughtfully implemented.

Designed for a wide audience, the course is self-paced and flexible, allowing participants to engage with real-life examples and content according to their own needs and interests. Additional complementary resources are also provided.
With the course ‘Delivering citizen-led renovation through one-stop shop cooperatives’, we hope to inspire and equip more communities to take the lead in the renovation wave that is driving a fair and inclusive energy transition across Europe.
