Developed under the OSR-Coop project, Energy Community Elearning is an open, training resource designed to empower community energy initiatives across Europe.
During the project, partners from Belgium, Ireland, France, and Portugal collaborated to share knowledge, pilot new approaches, and gather lessons learned on citizen-led renovation and one-stop shops. We also recognised a need: how can this wealth of experience be preserved and made accessible to others? The answer was Energy Community Elearning — a space where energy communities, local actors, and community energy enthusiasts can learn and build skills at their own pace.
The platform offers practical, hands-on learning materials—real-world examples, videos, written guides, visual tools and self-assessments —suitable for both beginners and experienced practitioners. It aims to foster a broad learning community focused on renewable energy, community empowerment, and local transition efforts.
At its core, this platform reflects our belief that knowledge gained from public and community efforts should remain in the commons, accessible to all. It will continue to grow through collective contributions, making it a living resource for those working toward a just and citizen-led energy transition.
Whether you’re part of a local cooperative, a municipality, or simply curious about community energy, we hope Energy Community Elearning becomes a trusted partner on your journey.
The Energy Community Platform gathers tools and resources to help you continue your learning journey and move forward with your own community energy project
